PhD Student, Department of Anthropology, Chinese University of Hong Kong     Isabel

Trained as a translator and as a linguist in my undergraduate degrees (B.A. in Translation and Interpreting by the University of Salamanca and B.A. in Linguistics by the University of Barcelona), I first arrived to China thanks to the China Scholarship Council to learn Mandarin in Beijing Jiaotong University. After that, I joined the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language in the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a lecturer during 6 years. The blurry line between language and culture made me shift my carrer towards Anthropology obtaining a M.A. Degree in Department of Anthropology in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014, studies that I am now continuing as a PhD candidate in the same department. My dissertation thesis deals with the bloming of the Life Science in China in recent years
